Encouraged by the National Architectural Accrediting Board to develop an architecture program which would "play the role of a forceful pioneer, ” Founding Dean Jim Elmore grows the architecture program from a drafting course offered in the Engineering Division, to its own division and then to a professional school of architecture. The decade closes with 142 students and five full-time faculty members.
