The 80’s

The program becomes a School within the College of Architecture and Environmental Design and continues to grow and fine-tune itself as it changes from a 5-year professional to a 4+2 year undergraduate/master’s format. The first two women to join as faculty members are Patricia McIntosh in computer-aided design and Lisa Findley in design. Internationally recognized faculty and administration include Professor Jeffrey Cook, third dean Gerald McSheffrey, School of Architecture Director Roger Schluntz, and John Meunier. Meunier is named the College’s fourth dean as McSheffrey moves to ASU West as provost. The program’s building footprint expands with the new North Building, completed in time for ASU Architecture’s 25-year Silver Jubilee celebration.
