James Rapp

Jim Rapp taught basic design and drawing. Always dapperly dressed, he was perpetually sketching. He was an eloquent storyteller. When students would chant for a fable, he would oblige and add a witty moral. He was associate dean from 1991 until retiring in 1996. He co-founded Environmental Planning Consultants, Inc., a private practice. As owners of their internationally renowned Scottsdale gallery, the Hand and the Spirit, Rapp and his wife Joanne shared their vast knowledge, love and support of arts and crafts. His sketchbooks and their craft collection are headed to the Smithsonian Institute.
