Metropolitan Canal Guidelines

Architecture faculty Michael Fifield, Madis Pihlak, Tim McGinty and Ted Cook, together with planning graduate student Sharon Southerland, work with cities in the metropolitan Phoenix area to develop and publish "The Metropolitan Canals: A Regional Design Framework," a study that defines the canals as a regional amenity for the urban environment. The study, supported by the Junior League, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Salt River Project, leads to successful implementations in Scottsdale (Scottsdale Waterfront) and in central Phoenix (Grand Canalscape).
