Harvey Bryan is credited by ASU facilities director David Brixen with initiating the university's current solar movement. Under Bryan's direction, students in 2004 surveyed 38 rooftops on the Tempe campus to find good candidates for roof-mounted systems and the first PV solar system was installed on the Tyler Street parking structure. The success of that initial effort led to more installations across all ASU campuses and at Red Rock Solar Plant.
