Rushia Fellows

Rushia Fellows was the first African-American graduate of the ASU program in 1951. After developing a successful architectural practice specializing in municipal, community, and religious projects, he joined ASU as a full-time faculty member in 1977, teaching design and architectural graphics. Rushia was a much loved advisor over the years, recognized for his patience, unflappability and empathy. After his death at the age of 65, the ASU Rushia G. Fellows Minority Student Scholarship was created to “eradicate inequity, quietly, and persistently.”
